A little about her

I work in an emergency room as a Registered Nurse in Henderson, NV. I like to stay active, but my first true love is powerlifting. However, I cannot wait for snowboarding season again <3

I’ve been apart of the Fitbliss family since January 2019.

 

What brought her to Team Fitbliss

I was blessed to work with my coach Katie’s mom (who is a physician assistant) and she told me about Fitbliss over a year ago. At the time, I was living in WA with plans to move so I needed to wait for a time where I wasn’t traveling so much so that I could give my full commitment to training and nutrition. Competing in a bodybuilding show has always been on my bucket list. Earlier this year, Katie made a post on social media about competing, and I thought this was my chance to shine!

 

Her favorite lift

My favorite lift is the squat. I’ve always been pretty good at it. I started lifting with my boyfriend about 5 years ago and learned pretty quickly. As I started powerlifting, I’ve learned that my biggest challenge is to overcome mental blocks. However, a lot of self pep talks really help! It took me nearly 3 meets to hit 315lbs on my squat in a competition, but when I did, it sure felt amazing to hit that goal. 🙂

 

 

 

What she has accomplished since joining our team

I finally broke past my 150lb plateau with my weight! The last time I can remember weighing 145lb was was in high school, and I’m definitely loving my physique now.

 

Her favorite macro-friendly food

½ cup of rice, 4oz of extra lean turkey, and ½ cup of Rao’s pasta sauce mixed together and then sprinkled with carrots and parsley to garnish. Yum! It definitely keeps me satisfied and it’s delish!

 

 

A struggle along the way

I work three 12hr shifts/week at night from 7:00pm-7:30am. This has been my biggest obstacle to overcome between nutrition and training. It is a little more challenging to get enough sleep and to fit in my macros during a busy night, but it is definitely not impossible. 🙂

 

Biggest takeaway from working with Team Fitbliss

I’ve learned that meal prep does not have to be chicken, broccoli, and rice day in and day out! I love food and I’m always on the hunt for yummy healthy food to eat!

 

Upcoming goals

While on prep, I feel that my cardiovascular health has improved tremendously! I’m 11 weeks out from my competition and I hope that I work to take 1st place or Top 3!

 

 

One of the biggest things that keeps me motivated to lead a healthy life is that so many of my family (native american/filipino) as well as my patients are so unhealthy. At work I see the long term effects of Diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney failure, and honestly it scares me. My nutrition is 100% in my control and I want to work to prevent conditions like this!
