When Her Fitness Journey Began

My real love for fitness began in 2014 when I decided to attend a Crossfit gym! This was after months and months of persuading by my friends that lifting heavy wasn’t going to make me big & bulky. I was so hesitant because I was CONVINCED by all the dumb articles and things other trainers and coaches had told me about how lifting anything over 20lbs (haha) was going to make me look like “a man”. Wow! The misconception was REAL. I finally decided to give it a try… and much to my disbelief I was hooked to say the least. I had tried everything from yoga, Zumba, P90x, training for marathons, Barre, Pole Fitness, etc. and I just wasn’t getting the results I was looking for. After a few months of lifting heavy 3-5 days per week, I started noticing drastic results. I could see little muscles popping and I felt stronger than I ever have in my life. I knew it was working and the proof was in the pudding!

 

Why She Became A Coach

The main reason I wanted to become a coach is because I had developed such a love and passion for lifting weights. It had helped me grow from the inside out in more ways than I could count! I had become so much happier inside! A healthier, stronger, better version of myself and I wanted to share this love and self-growth with everyone I came in contact with! I knew I could help people find that too if people just gave it a try.

 

An Obstacle Along the Way

Remembering that you can’t compare your journey to someone else’s has been the biggest hurdle I’ve had to overcome. Your “beginning” isn’t the same as someone’s “middle”.. or even beginning. It’s you vs you! This has helped me to keep pushing and not give up on myself!

 

What Fitbliss Means to Her

To me, Fitbliss means finding the joy in the journey! Having fun with lifting and not making it a “chore”. Finding a community that builds self-love, self-care and uplift and empowers one another without comparison!

 

Favorite Lift

The deadlift. There is just something about lifting up all that weight that makes me feel like such a strong badass woman that can conquer anything!

 

Future Goals

The main goal I’m focusing on right now is to be a better person all around. Be more selfless, forgiving, get my priorities straight, and give back to the community more. I also want to compete in my first powerlifting meet this year and potentially a bikini comp by the end of the year.

 

Someone Who Inspires Her

Honestly, all of the amazing women I get to coach and am inspired by on the daily in the Fitbliss community. They love & support each other no matter what personal struggles and daily trials they may be going though. And of course Camille LeBlanc Bazinet & Stephi Cohen – because they are just amaze-balls!
